Steward
Location: Al Beiruti Qatar
Reports to: Stewarding Supervisor / Head Chef
Overview:
The Steward is crucial to the kitchen's hygiene and operational flow. You are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchenware, equipment, and back-of-house areas, ensuring chefs have the tools they need for seamless service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dishwashing & Sanitation: Operate industrial dishwashing machinery. Manually wash, sanitize, polish, and store all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Deep clean and sanitize all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, shelves, and work surfaces. Manage kitchen waste disposal and recycling.
- Equipment Care: Clean and maintain large kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers) as per cleaning schedules. Report any maintenance issues.
- Inventory Support: Assist with storing deliveries and organizing the dry storage, refrigerator, and freezer areas.
- Supply Provision: Ensure service lines are stocked with clean plates, glasses, and utensils during peak hours.
Requirements:
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
- High attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment.
- Team-oriented and reliable.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
