Job Summary:
We require a dual-role Planning Engineer with specialized expertise in coordinating Third-Party Inspection activities through Inspection Performance Forms (IPF). This role is pivotal in integrating quality control milestones into the overall shutdown schedule, ensuring all inspection hold points are planned, resourced, and executed without delaying critical path activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize the integrated shutdown master schedule using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, with a specific focus on inspection and testing hold points.
- Act as the primary coordinator for all Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, managing the end-to-end IPF process.
- Prepare and issue Inspection Performance Forms (IPFs), coordinating with construction, QA/QC, and TPI to schedule all mandatory inspections (e.g., NDT, weld tests, pressure tests, coating inspections).
- Track and report on inspection progress, non-conformities (NCRs), and release-for-work status, updating the schedule in real-time.
- Liaise with the SAP PM team to ensure work orders requiring inspection are properly flagged and that results are documented within the system.
- Identify and mitigate scheduling conflicts between construction progress and inspection availability.
- Provide daily/weekly planning packages and look-ahead reports focused on upcoming inspection milestones.
- Analyze schedule performance and propose recovery plans for any delays related to quality control activities.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in Planning & Scheduling, with proven hands-on experience in managing Third-Party Inspection coordination during large-scale Petrochemical/Oil & Gas plant shutdowns.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong TA Planning Experience: Demonstrated expertise in shutdown/turnaround planning logic and constraints.
- Proficient in MS Project / Primavera P6: Essential for schedule development and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with SAP PM Module: Required for extracting work orders, updating statuses, and managing inspection notifications.
- In-depth knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection techniques, and relevant international codes.
