Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior QC Engineer - Mechanical specializing in pipelines and piping systems within the Oil & Gas construction sector. The ideal candidate will ensure all mechanical aspects of pipeline and piping projects adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and international codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures for pipeline and piping works.
- Oversee and witness all mechanical activities including pipe fabrication, alignment, welding, installation, hydrotesting, and commissioning.
- Review and approve material certifications, weld procedures (WPS/PQR), welder qualifications, and NDT reports.
- Conduct systematic surveillance and audits of construction activities to ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, and project-specific standards.
- Manage and coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and client representatives (e.g., KOC).
- Lead the resolution of non-conformances (NCRs), ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventive actions.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly quality reports, weld logs, and final quality dossiers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 12 years of direct QC experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a strong focus on cross-country pipelines and plant piping.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI/CSWIP) or equivalent is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of codes: ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 1104, and relevant KOC standards.
- Proficiency in NDT methods (RT, UT, MPI, LPT).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
