Senior Infrastructure Specialist
Position Overview:
The Senior Infrastructure Specialist is a subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, and governing the organization’s core infrastructure. This role involves strategic planning, architectural design, and leading complex projects to modernize and scale IT environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and design robust, scalable, and secure on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
- Lead major infrastructure projects (migrations, consolidations, cloud adoption).
- Develop and enforce infrastructure standards, policies, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and vendors.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for critical infrastructure failures.
- Collaborate with security teams to design and implement infrastructure security controls.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using IaC (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Mentor junior and mid-level infrastructure staff.
- Prepare and present technical reports and proposals to management.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with a proven track record in design and architecture.
- Deep expertise across multiple domains: servers, storage, virtualization, cloud (AWS/Azure), and networking.
- Strong project leadership and vendor management skills.
- Expert-level scripting and automation skills.
- Relevant senior-level certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Architect, VMware VCDX, CCIE) are a significant advantage.
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
