Job Summary:
QC Inspector - Mechanical (Welding) is responsible for the day-to-day surveillance and inspection of welding and related mechanical activities on site. Multiple vacancies are available for certified inspectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual inspections (VT) of weld preparations, fit-ups, and finished welds.
- Monitor and document welding parameters to ensure compliance with WPS.
- Review welder qualifications and maintain weld maps/logs.
- Coordinate with NDT technicians and evaluate NDT reports.
- Conduct dimensional checks and alignment inspections of piping spools and equipment.
- Prepare inspection reports, checklists, and handle the identification of non-conforming welds.
- Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to HSE procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade certificate.
- 6-7 years of experience as a QC Inspector in Oil & Gas construction.
- Mandatory Certification: CSWIP 3.1 or CWI. KOC approval is a significant advantage.
- Working knowledge of ASME Section IX and API 1104.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and welding symbols.
