IT Infrastructure Specialist
Position Overview:
The IT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of on-premises and hybrid infrastructure components, including servers, storage, and core services. This role ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of the organization’s IT foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows Server, Linux).
- Manage enterprise storage systems (Dell EMC, NetApp, or similar) including provisioning, replication, and tiering.
- Administer core infrastructure services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
- Implement and monitor backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity; plan for scaling and upgrades.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure integrated infrastructure protection.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation and diagrams.
- Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or relevant field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management.
- In-depth knowledge of server hardware, storage area networks (SAN), and data center operations.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible) is desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, RHCSA, CompTIA Server+) are advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
