About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Project Engineer (Civil Engineer) to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and executing a diverse range of high-quality public realm and landscape projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to take on-site responsibility, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and contribute to the enhancement of Abu Dhabi's urban landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management & Execution:
- Manage all on-site technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion.
- Supervise the construction, installation, and finishing of hardscape, play equipment flooring, skate parks, shade structures, fitness equipment, fencing, and related landscape elements.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, monitor progress, and prepare daily/weekly reports.
2. Technical & Submittal Management:
- Lead the preparation, review, and submission of all technical submittals, material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings for client/consultant approval.
- Ensure all materials and equipment comply with project specifications, local regulations (e.g., Abu Dhabi Municipalities standards), and international quality benchmarks.
- Resolve technical queries and provide engineering solutions to site challenges.
3. Coordination & Liaison:
- Act as the primary technical point of contact between site operations, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Attend technical and coordination meetings, presenting progress and addressing issues.
- Coordinate with the Landscape Architect and design team to ensure design intent is accurately translated on site.
4. Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including as-built drawings, inspection requests (IRs), material approvals, and completion certificates.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and regulations on site.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on, relevant experience in the UAE/GCC, specifically in landscaping, hardscape, and recreational infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record in managing the preparation and approval of technical and material submittals.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes related to the scope of work.
Required Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction detailing, and material specifications.
- Software Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project/ Primavera P6, and MS Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- Leadership & Problem-Solving: A proactive attitude with strong leadership potential and problem-solving abilities.
