We seek a highly specialized and certified technician with dual expertise in Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems within a high-rise building context. This critical role focuses on maintaining complex, building-wide HVAC control systems that are vital for energy efficiency and comfort in modern towers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot sophisticated VRF/VRV systems from leading manufacturers (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Samsung).
- Perform advanced diagnostics using proprietary software and tools to troubleshoot communication errors (e.g., BC controller, AD/OD addresses), refrigerant imbalances, and compressor faults.
- Service, calibrate, and repair VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) controlling pumps, fans, and compressors in HVAC systems to ensure optimal speed control and energy savings.
- Analyze system performance data, adjust setpoints, and optimize VRF system operation for maximum efficiency.
- Handle complex refrigerant circuit problems, including leak detection, pipe sizing verification, and oil management in long piping runs typical of high-rises.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting of three-phase power supplies and control wiring connected to VRF outdoor units and VFD panels.
- Liaise with system suppliers for technical support and spare parts.
- Maintain detailed logs of system parameters, modifications, and repairs.
- Provide training and technical guidance to conventional AC technicians on VRF/VFD basics.
- Ensure all work meets the OEM standards and Dubai's energy efficiency regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Mandatory: ITI Certificate in Electrical or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, plus specialized certification in VRF systems from a major manufacturer (Daikin, Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience specifically with VRF system installation, commissioning, and maintenance in high-rise projects in the UAE.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and programming VFDs (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss, etc.) within HVAC applications.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using PC-based diagnostic tools and software.
- This is a specialist role requiring continuous learning and upskilling on new technologies.
