General Requirements for All Positions
A valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license or DHA eligibility letter is mandatory for all medical/nursing roles.
A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the relevant field is required.
Lab Technician (Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technician)
Core Function: To perform routine medical laboratory tests on bodily fluids and tissues to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares specimens for analysis (e.g., centrifuging blood, staining slides).
- Operates sophisticated laboratory instrumentation, such as automated analyzers, cell counters, and microscopes.
- Conducts chemical, biological, hematological, immunological, and microbiological tests.
- Performs quality control and calibration on equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Logs data, reports findings to technologists or pathologists, and maintains detailed records.
- Follows strict safety protocols to handle biohazardous materials and infectious agents.
- May collect blood samples (phlebotomy) depending on the setting.
Work Environment: Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, clinics, research facilities, and public health organizations. Work often involves standing for long periods and adhering to strict safety standards.
Typical Requirements: An associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field. Certification, such as MLT(ASCP), is often preferred or required by employers.
