General Requirements for All Positions
A valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license or DHA eligibility letter is mandatory for all medical/nursing roles.
A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the relevant field is required.
EEG Technician (Electroencephalogram Technologist)
Core Function: To record the electrical activity of a patient's brain using an electroencephalograph, aiding in the diagnosis of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, and brain injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measures and precisely marks electrode placement locations on the patient's scalp according to the international 10-20 system.
- Applies electrodes using a conductive paste or adhesive, ensuring proper impedance for a clear signal.
- Operates the EEG equipment to obtain recordings during both resting and activated states (e.g., with photic stimulation or hyperventilation).
- Monitors the patient and the recording throughout the procedure, noting any clinical events or artifacts.
- May perform Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) for epilepsy patients in-hospital or ambulatory EEGs where the patient is mobile.
- Assists with advanced studies like Evoked Potentials (EP) or Polysomnography (sleep studies).
- Prepares the recording and a technical description for interpretation by a neurologist.
Work Environment: Hospitals, neurology clinics, epilepsy monitoring units, and specialized sleep centers. Requires patience and skill in working with patients of all ages, from neonates to the elderly, who may have cognitive or physical challenges.
