IT Support Specialist

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing reliable technical support to our staff, ensuring smooth IT operations across hardware, software, and network systems. You will play a key role in troubleshooting issues, maintaining our IT infrastructure, and supporting our day-to-day technology needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot system errors, diagnose problems, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Set up, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including computers, printers, phones, and peripherals.
- Coordinate with external vendors for IT procurement, repairs, and service requirements.
- Maintain and monitor data security protocols, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes.
- Assist with the onboarding and training of staff on IT systems and tools.
- Maintain clear documentation of IT procedures, issues, and resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and best practices.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office Suite, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc.).
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing timely and effective support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Active Directory, Office 365 administration, or help desk ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar.
