Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Construction Manager (Civil) to oversee all aspects of major civil construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be the single point of accountability, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead a dedicated team and coordinate with all stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Provide overall strategic direction and leadership for one or more large-scale civil construction projects (e.g., mixed-use developments, infrastructure, large buildings).
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, including site managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
- Planning & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans, construction schedules (using Primavera P6/MS Project), and resource allocation strategies. Monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the project budget, cost control, and forecasting. Review and approve variations, interim payments, and ensure the project's financial health.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison with the client, consultants, authorities, and other stakeholders. Ensure clear communication and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality & HSE Assurance: Enforce strict adherence to company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies and procedures. Champion a "Zero Harm" safety culture on site.
- Contract Administration: Oversee all contractual obligations, manage risks, and handle claims in collaboration with the commercial team.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular, detailed progress reports to senior management and clients.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in civil construction, with at least 8-10 years in a senior management role (Construction Manager / Senior Project Manager) within the UAE/GCC region.
- Project Portfolio: Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale civil projects in Abu Dhabi (value of AED 500 million+) from ground-breaking to handover.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, materials, and building codes (Abu Dhabi Municipality/ADEHS regulations).
- Software Proficiency: Expert user of project planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office Suite. BIM knowledge is advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
