Electrical Authorised Person – Frankfurt
Job Title: Electrical Authorised Person (AP)

Purpose of the Role:
To be the legally responsible and qualified person for the safety, isolation, and energisation of high-voltage (HV) and/or low-voltage (LV) electrical systems. The AP ensures strict adherence to German safety regulations (DGUV Vorschrift 3, BGV A3) and client-specific safety rules to protect personnel and plant integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume legal responsibility as the "befähigte Person" for all electrical safety procedures on-site.
- Issue, control, and cancel safety documents (Permits-to-Work, Sanction-for-Test, Limitation-of-Access) for electrical apparatus.
- Carry out and oversee the safe isolation, earthing, and proving dead of electrical systems.
- Manage the electrical safety rules and ensure all operational staff are trained and compliant.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for all electrical work.
- Audit and inspect electrical installations and work practices for compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all electrical safety matters with the client, contractors, and authorities.
- Maintain accurate logs of safety documentation, switching schedules, and system diagrams.
- Provide technical guidance on complex switching operations and fault scenarios.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Formal German certification as a "befähigte Person für Elektrotechnik" (Authorised Person for Electrical Systems) is mandatory. Certification for specific voltage levels (e.g., >1kV) as required.
- Master Electrician (Elektromeister) qualification or equivalent (e.g., Staatlich geprüfter Techniker in Elektrotechnik).
- Extensive hands-on experience in a similar AP role within critical infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of DIN VDE standards, DGUV Vorschriften, and Betriebssicherheitsverordnung (BetrSichV).
- Fluent in German (verbal and written); professional English is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, and absolute rigor in safety protocols.
