M&E Quantity Surveyor – Frankfurt
Job Title: M&E Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical & Electrical)

Purpose of the Role:
To provide commercial and contractual management for the M&E packages of construction projects. The role focuses on cost control, procurement, and financial reporting for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) elements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for M&E works during pre-construction and tendering phases.
- Manage the procurement process: prepare tender documents, analyse subcontractor bids, and make recommendations for appointment.
- Prepare, negotiate, and agree on subcontract packages for M&E works.
- Perform regular cost value reconciliations (CVRs), monitor project cash flow, and report on financial status.
- Measure and value variations, site changes, and prepare interim valuations/payment applications.
- Assess and agree on subcontractor interim payments and final accounts.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, providing mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with M&E Project Managers, engineers, and clients to ensure financial and contractual compliance.
- Administer contracts (e.g., VOB, BGB, FIDIC) and handle claims management.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Proven experience as a QS with a strong specialization in M&E systems, not just general building works.
- Solid understanding of M&E installation processes, materials, and market rates.
- Proficiency with standard measurement methods (e.g., Leistungsverzeichnis (LV), STLB, SIA, or CESMM).
- Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in German (contract law is German-based) and strong business English.
- Experience in data centre or mission-critical projects is a major advantage.
