Job Overview:
This role manages the commercial and contractual affairs for combined Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) packages. The M&E QS must understand the complexities and interfaces of both disciplines to ensure accurate financial control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full commercial lifecycle of M&E packages from tender to final account.
- Prepare composite cost plans and estimates integrating both mechanical and electrical elements.
- Perform cost analysis and benchmarking for M&E systems.
- Administer main contract and subcontract documents, focusing on the M&E portions.
- Coordinate with M&E design teams to advise on cost implications of design decisions.
- Prepare interim and final accounts, ensuring all M&E work is accurately valued.
- Handle claims and variations related to interfaces between M, E, and other trades.
- Provide detailed financial reporting and forecasting to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience as a QS working on integrated M&E or MEP projects in Germany.
- Solid technical understanding of both mechanical (HVAC, plumbing) and electrical (power, lighting, BMS) systems.
- Expertise in German contract forms (VOB, BGB) and experience with complex M&E subcontracts.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills to liaise with technical teams.
- Fluency in German is essential.
