Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Tax Manager to lead the tax advisory and compliance function for our portfolio of client entities. This pivotal role ensures full compliance with UAE tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, Excise Tax) while delivering high-quality support on both routine and complex matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing filings, payments, registrations, and providing crucial support to our advisory engagements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance & Operational Leadership:
- Lead and manage end-to-end tax compliance for assigned client entities, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and submission of all tax returns (VAT, CT, Excise).
- Ensure all tax payments are calculated correctly and made within statutory deadlines.
- Maintain impeccable and accurate tax records, documentation, and audit trails for all clients.
- Oversee all client-related registrations, deregistrations, and profile updates with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and other relevant government bodies.
2. Tax Advisory & Technical Support:
- Support senior managers and partners on tax advisory engagements by conducting in-depth technical research on UAE tax law and its application.
- Assist in preparing detailed technical reports, memos, and presentations for clients on various tax matters.
- Contribute to the analysis of complex transactions, providing insights on tax implications and compliance requirements.
3. Client & Risk Management:
- Act as a primary day-to-day contact for clients on compliance matters, building strong, trustworthy relationships.
- Proactively identify and mitigate tax risks for clients, keeping them informed of regulatory changes and deadlines.
- Review work prepared by junior staff or outsource providers for accuracy and completeness.
4. Knowledge & Development:
- Play a key role in the firm's internal knowledge development by updating templates, guidelines, and best practices.
- Stay abreast of all changes in UAE tax legislation and circulars from the FTA.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ADIT, CPA) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of direct experience in a tax role, preferably within a reputable accounting firm, consultancy, or large multinational in the UAE.
- Technical Knowledge: Must have in-depth, hands-on experience with UAE VAT and a strong understanding of the new Corporate Tax regime. Proficiency with FTA portals, e-Services, and tax accounting software is essential.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
