HVAC Technician – Job Description
Overview
HVAC Technicians work on heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Their goal is to ensure systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Install HVAC systems such as air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ventilation units
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems
- Repair or replace defective components (compressors, motors, thermostats, etc.)
- Test system performance and ensure energy efficiency
- Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with regulations
- Read blueprints and technical diagrams
- Maintain service records and reports
- Respond to emergency repair calls
Required Skills
