Job Title: Head Salad Chef
Job Summary
The Head Salad Chef is responsible for preparing, presenting, and overseeing all salad and cold dish preparations in the kitchen. This role ensures high standards of food quality, hygiene, creativity, and consistency while managing the salad section and supporting overall kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of salads, dressings, and cold dishes.
- Develop and standardize salad recipes and menu items.
- Supervise and coordinate the salad section (cold kitchen).
- Ensure freshness, quality, and proper storage of ingredients.
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the Kitchen Coordinator for supplies.
- Minimize food waste and control portion sizes.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff assigned to the salad section.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and new dish development.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts (preferred).
- Proven experience in a similar role or cold kitchen section.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Creativity in food presentation and flavor combinations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
