Assistant Store Manager – Job Description
📌 Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations, team supervision, and sales performance, while ensuring smooth store functioning and excellent customer experience.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Targets
- Support in achieving store sales goals and KPIs
- Monitor daily sales performance and suggest improvements
- Assist in implementing promotions and sales strategies
2. Team Supervision
- Supervise and guide sales staff during shifts
- Assist in training new employees
- Help create staff schedules and manage attendance
3. Customer Service
- Ensure high standards of customer satisfaction
- Resolve customer complaints effectively
- Lead by example on the sales floor
4. Store Operations
- Assist in opening and closing the store
- Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained
- Monitor store cleanliness and organization
5. Inventory Management
- Support stock control and replenishment
- Assist with stock audits and deliveries
- Help reduce shrinkage and stock loss
6. Reporting & Administration
- Assist in preparing daily/weekly sales reports
- Coordinate with Store Manager and head office
- Handle basic administrative tasks
🎯 Requirements
- 2–4 years of retail experience (supervisory role preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Experience in fashion, beauty, or lifestyle retail is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of sales reporting and inventory systems
