Job Title: Direct Tax Executive / Senior Executive / Manager
Job Summary
The Direct Tax professional is responsible for managing income tax compliance, tax planning, and advisory functions for the organization. This role ensures adherence to applicable tax laws, optimizes tax liabilities, and supports audits, assessments, and litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file income tax returns (corporate, individual, or partnership)
- Handle advance tax, TDS/TCS calculations, and filings
- Ensure compliance with the Income Tax Act, 1961 and related rules
- Manage tax assessments, notices, and responses from the Income Tax Department
- Assist in tax audits and coordinate with statutory auditors
- Perform tax planning to optimize tax liability and ensure compliance
- Maintain proper documentation and tax records
- Support transfer pricing documentation (if applicable)
- Track changes in tax laws and assess impact on the business
- Liaise with consultants, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting
- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred
- 2–10+ years of experience in direct taxation (depending on level)
