Job Title: BTEC Business Teacher
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Business studies, specifically for BTEC qualifications, enabling students to achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with BTEC Business curriculum standards.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
- Support students in completing coursework, assignments, and assessments.
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments.
Assessment & Feedback
- Design and assess assignments in line with BTEC requirements.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.
Curriculum Development
- Contribute to the development and updating of BTEC Business course materials.
- Ensure compliance with awarding body standards (e.g., Pearson Edexcel).
Student Support
- Mentor and guide students on academic and career pathways.
- Identify and support students with additional learning needs.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Administration
- Maintain accurate student records and reports.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
- Ensure all coursework meets internal verification and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
- Experience teaching BTEC Business or similar vocational qualifications.
- Strong understanding of BTEC assessment criteria and structure.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
