Job Title: Pipeline Construction Lead
Job Summary
The Pipeline Construction Lead is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of pipeline construction projects. This role ensures that work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Supervision
- Lead on-site pipeline construction activities (onshore/offshore)
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and construction crews
- Ensure adherence to project plans, drawings, and specifications
- Monitor progress and resolve construction issues in real time
Technical Oversight
- Review engineering drawings, route alignment sheets, and method statements
- Oversee activities such as trenching, stringing, welding, coating, lowering, and backfilling
- Ensure welding and inspection processes comply with standards like ASME B31.8 or American Petroleum Institute codes
- Coordinate hydrotesting, pigging, and pre-commissioning activities
HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)
- Enforce strict compliance with HSE policies and procedures
- Conduct safety meetings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
Quality Control
- Ensure construction meets quality standards and project specifications
- Coordinate inspections, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), and audits
- Maintain quality documentation and reports
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and project management teams
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline Engineering
- 8–15+ years of experience in pipeline construction (oil & gas preferred)
- Proven experience in leading large-scale pipeline projects

- Project planning and scheduling (Primavera/MS Project)
- Strong communication and reporting skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in cross-country pipelines, offshore pipelines, or EPC projects
- Familiarity with welding procedures, NDT techniques, and coating systems
- Experience in desert, remote, or challenging environments
Work Environment
- Site-based role in remote or project locations
- Long working hours depending on project demands
- Exposure to outdoor and physically demanding conditions
