Pipefitter (Marine Projects) – Croatia
Job Description
A Pipefitter for Marine Projects is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems used in ships and marine structures. The role requires working according to technical drawings, safety regulations, and shipyard quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, bevel, fit, and assemble pipe sections accurately.
- Read and interpret isometric drawings and technical specifications.
- Perform TIG (GTAW) tack welding as per approved welding procedures.
- Install and modify piping systems onboard ships and marine installations.
- Ensure proper alignment, support, and connection of pipes and fittings.
- Work with materials such as:
- Carbon steel
- Stainless steel
- Copper
- Cunifer
- Thin-wall piping
- Install systems including:
- Hydraulic piping
- Water mist (HiFog) systems
- Utility piping systems
- Conduct leak tests and fit-up inspections.
- Follow all safety and quality standards in shipyard environments.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in marine or shipyard pipefitting.
- Ability to read isometric drawings.
- Knowledge of flanges, valves, fittings, and pipe supports.
- Experience in TIG (GTAW) tack welding.
- Familiarity with pipe cutting, grinding, and bevel preparation.
- Good understanding of marine piping systems.
- Physically fit for shipyard working conditions.
- Basic English communication skills.
Practical Test Requirements
Candidates may be tested on:
- Pipe cutting using a grinding machine
- Bevel preparation according to WPS
- Pipe fit-up and alignment
- TIG tack welding quality
- Safety procedures and PPE usage
