Job Summary
The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. The role ensures compliance with local regulations, company standards, and international safety practices across all operations and project sites.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Management
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with local HSE laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Monitor workplace safety practices and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Environmental Management
- Ensure environmental compliance and sustainability practices.
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, and environmental impact.
- Implement environmental awareness programs and initiatives.
Training & Compliance
- Conduct HSE induction and safety training programs.
- Organize toolbox talks, emergency drills, and awareness sessions.
- Ensure employees and subcontractors follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Maintain HSE records, reports, permits, and documentation.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop emergency response and evacuation plans.
- Coordinate with emergency services and regulatory authorities when required.
- Ensure availability and inspection of firefighting and safety equipment.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare monthly HSE reports and performance statistics.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies on HSE matters.
- Support internal and external HSE audits and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as:
- NEBOSH
- IOSH
- OSHA
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (preferred)
- 5–10 years of HSE experience, preferably in construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and international safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
