Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supervising the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. The role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable electrical operations across projects, while complying with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and review electrical systems, wiring layouts, and power distribution plans.
- Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, load calculations, and technical specifications.
- Install, test, and commission electrical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults and system failures.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation teams on project requirements.
- Monitor site electrical works and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspection of electrical systems and equipment.
- Prepare material lists (BOQ), cost estimates, and procurement specifications.
- Support project planning, execution, and documentation activities.
- Analyze electrical load requirements and optimize energy efficiency.
- Maintain records of maintenance, testing, and inspection reports.
- Assist in upgrading and improving existing electrical systems.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and power systems.
- Proficiency in electrical design tools (AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or equivalent).
- Understanding of electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, IS).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation basics (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2–6+ years of experience in electrical design, installation, or maintenance.
- Experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Professional certifications or licenses are an advantage.
