Job Summary
A Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing engineering and technical aspects of projects from planning to execution and completion. The role ensures that project activities are carried out according to design specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, budget constraints, and project timelines while coordinating between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution Support
- Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and execution strategies.
- Coordinate engineering activities across different disciplines.
- Support project managers in tracking progress and deliverables.
- Ensure alignment between design, procurement, and construction phases.
Engineering Coordination
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
- Resolve technical issues during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with design requirements and standards.
Site Support & Monitoring
- Support site activities and ensure smooth execution of engineering work.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality.
- Assist in resolving on-site technical challenges.
- Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Review technical specifications for procurement of materials and equipment.
- Support vendor evaluation and technical clarification processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers for technical compliance and delivery schedules.
- Ensure materials meet project requirements and standards.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and project specifications.
- Support inspection and testing activities.
- Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements.
- Participate in safety and quality audits.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track project progress against planned schedules.
- Prepare progress reports and technical documentation.
- Identify delays, risks, and propose corrective actions.
- Support project performance analysis and reporting.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain engineering records, drawings, and project documentation.
- Prepare technical reports, method statements, and work procedures.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders and management.
- Ensure proper document control and version management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field).
- 2–10+ years of experience in project engineering or construction projects.
- Experience in EPC, oil & gas, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects preferred.
