Site Engineer – Job Description
Job Title: Site Engineer (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Construction – depending on project)

Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Manager / Senior Engineer
Job Summary
A Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and managing on-site construction activities to ensure that work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules. The role acts as a key link between design teams, contractors, and site execution teams.
Key Responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day construction activities at site.
- Ensure work is carried out as per drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Monitor manpower, equipment, and materials at site.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors for smooth execution.
Technical Support
- Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance to site workers and supervisors.
- Resolve site-related technical issues and conflicts.
- Ensure proper alignment between design and execution.
Quality Control
- Ensure construction work meets required quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and verify workmanship.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for testing and inspections.
- Identify defects and ensure corrective actions.
Project Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Monitor daily progress of site activities.
- Ensure work is completed according to project schedule.
- Report delays, risks, and site challenges to management.
- Assist in preparation of progress reports and updates.
Safety Management
- Enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) rules at site.
- Ensure all workers use proper PPE.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately.
Material & Resource Management
- Monitor material usage and site inventory.
- Coordinate material requests and deliveries.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Prevent wastage and optimize resource utilization.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and clients.
- Liaise with procurement, engineering, and planning teams.
- Attend site meetings and progress reviews.
- Maintain clear communication between all stakeholders.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain site records, logs, and reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Document site activities, inspections, and issues.
- Ensure proper filing of site documents and drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- 2–10+ years of experience in construction or site supervision roles.
- Experience in EPC, infrastructure, building, industrial, or oil & gas projects preferred.
