Job Summary
The Architectural Inspector is responsible for inspecting and monitoring architectural construction activities to ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, applicable building codes, and quality standards. The role involves conducting site inspections, verifying workmanship, documenting observations, and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections of architectural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Inspect architectural activities including masonry, plastering, drywall, flooring, ceilings, roofing, waterproofing, painting, glazing, doors, windows, cladding, and finishing works.
- Verify materials delivered to the site for compliance with approved material submittals and project specifications.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
- Witness and document inspections, tests, and mock-up approvals as required.
- Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards and industry best practices.
- Issue inspection reports, site observations, snag lists, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
- Verify corrective actions and ensure timely closure of quality issues.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, QA/QC, and HSE teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on inspection findings and project progress.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is completed according to approved schedules.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and photographic reports.
- Support project handover activities, including final inspections, punch list preparation, and defect rectification.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) requirements during site inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in architectural inspection, construction supervision, or QA/QC within commercial, residential, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Experience working with engineering consultants, project management consultants (PMC), or contractors is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of architectural construction methods, materials, and finishing works.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
- Familiarity with local building regulations, international building codes, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection methodologies, and testing requirements.
- Experience with architectural materials including stone, ceramic tiles, marble, gypsum, aluminum, glass, and façade systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) is an advantage.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.

- Experience with façade systems, interior fit-out, and high-end finishing works.
- Professional memberships or certifications related to architecture, construction inspection, or quality management are advantageous.

Working Conditions
- Primarily site-based with frequent inspections of construction activities.

- May require travel between project locations and occasional extended working hours to meet project deadlines.
