Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, engineering, review, and execution of electrical systems for industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or EPC projects. The role provides technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring electrical systems are designed and implemented in compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, safety standards, and client requirements while supporting successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for new and existing projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, cable schedules, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, protection coordination, and equipment sizing.
- Review technical bids, vendor documents, material submittals, and equipment data sheets.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, process, and architectural disciplines to ensure integrated project execution.
- Support procurement by evaluating electrical equipment and vendor proposals.
- Monitor engineering progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve electrical engineering issues during construction and project execution.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, local regulations, and company engineering procedures.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, constructability reviews, and technical meetings with clients and contractors.
- Support QA/QC activities by reviewing inspection and test plans (ITPs), factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Prepare engineering reports, calculations, technical evaluations, and project documentation.
- Mentor junior electrical engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Identify engineering risks and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent professional registration is preferred.
- 8–15 years of experience in electrical engineering within EPC, oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and electrical engineering principles.
- Experience with medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) power distribution systems.
- Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), UPS systems, generators, and power management systems.
- Experience with lighting, earthing (grounding), lightning protection, and emergency power systems.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent.
- Ability to perform power system studies, relay coordination, arc flash analysis, and cable sizing.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ISO, and local electrical regulations.
- Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures and engineering documentation requirements.

Preferred Experience
- Experience with EPC/EPCC projects from FEED through commissioning.
- Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and project management practices.
- Experience supporting procurement, vendor inspections, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems, substations, or industrial automation is an advantage.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D engineering tools is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to project sites, substations, manufacturing facilities, or vendor locations as required.
- Close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Occasional travel and extended working hours may be required to support project schedules and commissioning activities.
- Compliance with company Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and engineering standards.
