Job Description: Site Supervisor (Construction & Fit-Out)
Job Summary
The Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily construction and fit-out activities on-site to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications. The role coordinates site personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and resources while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and supporting the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction and fit-out activities at the project site.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and quality standards.
- Allocate work to site teams, subcontractors, and labor while monitoring productivity and performance.
- Inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable building codes.
- Monitor project progress and report daily, weekly, and monthly site activities to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Ensure timely availability and proper use of materials, equipment, and tools on-site.
- Verify that materials delivered to the site meet project specifications and quality requirements.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, conducting regular site safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist in scheduling inspections, testing, and approvals with consultants and relevant authorities.
- Record site activities, labor attendance, material usage, and equipment utilization.
- Identify potential risks, delays, and quality issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Support the preparation of site reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
- Ensure timely completion of snagging, punch-list items, and project handover activities.
- Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders and promote teamwork on-site.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of site supervision experience in construction, interior fit-out, or building projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site execution practices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Good understanding of quality control procedures and HSE regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with project management or reporting software is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site activities simultaneously.
