A HSE Engineer (Health, Safety, and Environment Engineer) – Construction Field is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety procedures on construction sites to prevent accidents, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain a safe working environment.
Job Description – HSE Engineer (Construction Field)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
- Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations, client requirements, and international HSE standards.
- Prepare and review risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Method Statements.
- Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness programs for workers and supervisors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
- Monitor compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe work practices.
- Coordinate with project teams to implement preventive and corrective safety measures.
- Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, and safety documentation.
- Ensure emergency procedures, fire safety measures, and evacuation plans are in place.
- Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, pollution control, and site cleanliness.
- Participate in safety meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Typically 3–8 years of HSE experience in construction projects.
- Experience in UAE/GCC construction environments is often preferred.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are often required or preferred.
- Knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and construction safety standards.
