An MEP Coordinator (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Coordinator) is responsible for coordinating all MEP works on a construction project to ensure they are properly integrated with civil, structural, and architectural works.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities throughout the project.
- Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and architectural teams to avoid clashes.
- Supervise MEP subcontractors and monitor installation progress.
- Ensure MEP works comply with project specifications, local codes, and quality standards.
- Resolve technical issues related to MEP installations.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure MEP activities are completed on time.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate testing and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Attend project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Typically 5–10 years of experience in MEP coordination on construction projects.
- Experience with commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- UAE/GCC construction experience is often preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of local building codes and international standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks for coordination and clash detection.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project) is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and meet project deadlines.
