Job Description – Contract Management Engineer (Construction / Engineering)
A Contract Management Engineer is responsible for managing contractual aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms, handling documentation, monitoring obligations, and supporting successful project delivery while minimizing commercial and legal risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer project contracts from award to completion.
- Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, and commercial terms.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, conditions, and obligations.
- Prepare and review contractual correspondence with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and identify contractual risks and opportunities.
- Manage variations, change orders, claims, and extensions of time (EOT) requests.
- Review subcontract agreements and support subcontract administration.
- Coordinate with project, commercial, procurement, and legal teams.
- Maintain accurate contract records, registers, and documentation.
- Support preparation of claims, notices, and contractual submissions.
- Analyze contract performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure timely submission of reports, invoices, and contractual deliverables.
- Assist in negotiations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Monitor compliance with project schedules, payment terms, and contractual milestones.
- Support dispute resolution and contract close-out activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related field.
- Experience as a Contract Management Engineer in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and contract administration.
- Experience with international contract standards such as FIDIC is preferred.
- Knowledge of variations, claims, EOT, and commercial procedures.
- UAE/GCC project experience is an advantage.
