Construction Manager (Civil) – Job Description
A Construction Manager (Civil) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing civil construction projects from inception to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards, contract requirements, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of civil construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and handover.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and construction workers.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to avoid delays.
- Manage project costs, budgets, and procurement of materials and equipment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and government authorities.
- Review and approve contractor invoices, progress reports, and change orders.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and company HSE policies.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project status reports for senior management.
- Resolve technical issues and maintain effective communication among all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 8–15+ years of experience in civil construction, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or PMP certification is an advantage.
- Experience in commercial, residential, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
