Job Summary
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for preparing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating with project teams, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions. The position plays a key role in ensuring efficient project execution and achieving project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project execution plans.
- Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against planned schedules.
- Analyze delays and prepare recovery schedules to mitigate project risks.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance.
- Perform critical path analysis and identify potential schedule impacts.
- Forecast manpower, equipment, and material requirements based on project timelines.
- Support project budgeting, cost control, and earned value analysis (EVA).
- Review contractor and subcontractor schedules for compliance with contract requirements.
- Participate in project meetings and provide planning updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation, records, and planning databases.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and project quality standards.
- Assist in claims preparation, extension of time (EOT) analysis, and delay assessments when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 8–15 years of experience in planning and scheduling civil construction projects.
- Experience in high-rise buildings, infrastructure, industrial, or EPC projects is preferred.
- PMP certification is an advantage.
