Job Description: Project Engineer
Job Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting project planning, coordination, execution, and technical activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved specifications, drawings, quality standards, and contractual requirements. The role involves coordinating with site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients while monitoring project progress and resolving technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing project activities.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
- Coordinate daily site activities and ensure work is executed according to approved plans and schedules.
- Monitor project progress and report any delays, risks, or technical issues.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned project activities within budget and schedule requirements.
Technical Support
- Review engineering drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical documents.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site teams.
- Coordinate technical clarifications and resolve engineering issues during project execution.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, and industry standards.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, project documentation, and progress updates.
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Ensure project activities comply with QA/QC procedures, inspection plans, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, and approvals.
- Support implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements at site.
- Ensure compliance with approved method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
Project Monitoring & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Monitor material requirements, deliveries, and site resources.
- Maintain project records, drawings, inspection documents, and technical correspondence.
- Assist in tracking project milestones, variations, and changes.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Support project handover activities, including completion documents and as-built drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–7 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and project execution processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of project documentation, quality procedures, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and engineering software relevant to the discipline.

- May require extended working hours during critical project activities.
