Sr. Officer – Logistics Operations
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Officer – Logistics Operations to manage and coordinate day-to-day logistics activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods. The ideal candidate should have strong coordination, planning, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily logistics and transportation operations.
- Plan and monitor the movement of materials, goods, and shipments.
- Coordinate with transporters, drivers, suppliers, warehouses, and internal departments.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of materials.
- Track shipments and provide regular status updates.
- Prepare and verify logistics-related documents, including delivery challans, invoices, transport documents, and shipment records.
- Monitor vehicle availability, route planning, and transportation schedules.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches, deliveries, vehicle movements, and logistics costs.
- Monitor transporter performance and resolve operational issues.
- Follow up on delayed, damaged, or missing shipments and take corrective action.
- Assist in controlling transportation and logistics costs.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports.
- Support audits and maintain proper documentation and records.
- Identify operational issues and recommend improvements to improve efficiency and service levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- Good knowledge of logistics and transportation processes.
- Experience coordinating with transporters, vendors, warehouses, and drivers.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Experience with ERP/WMS or logistics management software is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict delivery timelines.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
