Doctor / Medical Officer — Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Doctor / Medical Officer to provide high-quality medical care to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating illnesses, conducting medical examinations, prescribing appropriate treatments, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine patients and obtain comprehensive medical histories.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop appropriate treatment and care plans based on patients’ clinical needs.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments in accordance with applicable guidelines.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic investigations.
- Monitor patients’ progress and modify treatment plans when necessary.
- Provide preventive healthcare advice, health education, and lifestyle guidance.
- Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare professionals when required.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and provide necessary initial care.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Communicate medical conditions, treatment options, and potential risks clearly to patients and their families.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, specialists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection-control procedures, clinical protocols, and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, training, and continuing professional development.
- Maintain professional, ethical, and compassionate standards of patient care.
Qualifications
- MBBS / MD / equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical registration and license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Completion of required internship/residency or relevant clinical training.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is an advantage.
