Electronics Maintenance Technician — Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Electronics Maintenance Technician to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test electronic equipment and systems. The successful candidate will ensure that electronic equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing equipment downtime and supporting smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment and systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules.
- Diagnose faults in electronic circuits, control systems, power supplies, sensors, and related equipment.
- Test and replace defective electronic components, circuit boards, cables, connectors, and other parts.
- Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, soldering equipment, and other diagnostic tools.
- Read and interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Perform equipment testing and functional checks after repairs and maintenance.
- Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and technical service requests.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of electronic systems.
- Coordinate with engineers, maintenance personnel, equipment operators, and external service providers when required.
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of spare parts, components, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Ensure tools and testing equipment are properly maintained and calibrated where applicable.
- Follow electrical, electronic, occupational health, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workspace.
- Support equipment audits, safety inspections, and maintenance improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance and basic operating guidance to equipment users when required.
- Perform other maintenance and technical duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Diploma, ITI, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
- Relevant technical certification is an advantage.
- Previous experience in electronics maintenance, equipment servicing, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of electronic circuits, components, control systems, and testing equipment.
