Sales Engineer — Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a technically skilled and commercially driven Sales Engineer to support sales activities by providing technical expertise, developing customer relationships, and recommending suitable products and solutions. The successful candidate will understand customer requirements, prepare technical proposals, conduct product demonstrations, and work closely with engineering, sales, and service teams to deliver effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers.
- Understand customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
- Prepare technical quotations, proposals, specifications, and commercial offers.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions with customers.
- Explain complex technical information clearly to customers and decision-makers.
- Work with customers to identify technical challenges and develop suitable solutions.
- Visit customer sites to assess requirements, conduct surveys, and provide technical support where necessary.
- Coordinate with engineering, technical, procurement, service, and sales teams to meet customer requirements.
- Follow up on quotations, tenders, proposals, and sales opportunities.
- Participate in customer negotiations and support the sales team in closing technical deals.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for additional sales.
- Research market trends, competitor products, pricing, and emerging technologies.
- Provide feedback from customers and the market to management and product/engineering teams.
- Assist with product installation, commissioning, testing, or troubleshooting when required and within the appropriate technical scope.
- Provide basic technical training and product guidance to customers and end users.
- Maintain accurate customer, quotation, opportunity, and sales information in CRM systems.
- Prepare regular sales activity, pipeline, and performance reports.
- Attend exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and customer events to promote products and generate leads.
- Ensure compliance with company sales policies, technical standards, and ethical business practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Instrumentation, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Previous experience in technical sales, sales engineering, business development, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in the relevant industry or technical product category is an advantage.
- Valid driving license may be required depending on job responsibilities and travel requirements.
