Business Development Specialist — Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Business Development Specialist to identify new business opportunities, build strategic relationships, generate qualified leads, and support the company’s revenue growth. The successful candidate will research markets, engage prospective customers, develop business proposals, and work closely with sales, marketing, and operational teams to convert opportunities into long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets.
- Research target markets, industries, customers, competitors, and potential business partners.
- Generate and qualify leads through networking, referrals, online research, outbound communication, events, and other channels.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and business opportunities.
- Contact potential clients to understand their business requirements, challenges, and purchasing needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Arrange and conduct business meetings, presentations, product demonstrations, and consultations.
- Prepare business proposals, quotations, presentations, tenders, and commercial documents.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, operations, finance, and technical teams to develop suitable solutions for customers.
- Support negotiations and commercial discussions with prospective and existing clients.
- Follow up consistently on leads, proposals, quotations, meetings, and pending opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling, upselling, partnerships, and expansion into new markets.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, customer needs, and changes in market conditions.
- Attend conferences, exhibitions, networking events, trade shows, and business meetings to generate opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, contacts, activities, opportunities, and sales forecasts in CRM systems.
- Prepare regular business development reports, pipeline updates, and market intelligence for management.
- Work with marketing teams to develop campaigns and initiatives that support lead generation.
- Assist management in developing business development strategies, plans, and revenue targets.
- Ensure business development activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Perform other business development and commercial duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Commerce, Sales, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or a related role is preferred.
- Experience in the relevant industry or B2B environment is an advantage.
- Professional qualifications in sales, marketing, or business development are an advantage.
