English Teacher — Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to provide high-quality English language instruction to students. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, developing language skills, and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective English lessons according to the curriculum and students’ learning needs.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, listening, and pronunciation skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and classroom activities.
- Assess and monitor students’ academic progress through tests, assignments, and regular evaluations.
- Provide constructive feedback and additional support to students who require improvement.
- Encourage students to develop confidence in communicating in English.
- Create an inclusive, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Use appropriate teaching methods, technology, and educational resources to enhance learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student development when required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Stay updated with modern teaching methodologies and developments in English language education.
- Maintain professional standards and follow school policies and academic procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification such as B.Ed., TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Good knowledge of English grammar, literature, and language-learning methodologies.
- Experience with classroom technology and digital learning tools is an advantage.
