Project Engineer – Job Description
We are looking for a technically competent and organized Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of projects. The Project Engineer will coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, quality, HSE, and other teams to ensure project activities are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in planning and executing project activities.
- Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, technical documents, and schedules.
- Coordinate day-to-day engineering and site activities.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, work plans, and progress updates.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, production, quality, and HSE teams.
- Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed according to schedule.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients as required.
- Ensure materials, equipment, drawings, and technical information are available when required.
- Review technical documents and ensure work is carried out according to approved specifications.
- Monitor site work and ensure compliance with approved drawings and method statements.
- Identify technical issues, delays, and site constraints and coordinate appropriate solutions.
- Assist with quantity measurements, material requirements, and cost-related activities.
- Prepare technical reports, progress reports, inspection requests, and project documentation.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Assist in reviewing and resolving technical queries and RFIs.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with quality and HSE standards.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical and progress updates.
- Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, correspondence, approvals, and site activities.
- Support project close-out, documentation, as-built drawings, and final handover.
- Perform other project-related duties assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant Engineering discipline.
- 3–7 years of relevant project engineering experience, preferably in construction, EPC, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Good knowledge of engineering principles, project execution, and site coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal departments.
- Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, quality, and HSE requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering/project software.
- Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
