Job Summary:
We are looking for a diligent and experienced QA/QC Inspector to perform on-site inspections and ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications. The inspector will be the eyes and ears of the quality team on the ground, responsible for identifying defects and ensuring immediate corrective actions are taken.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections of work in progress, including materials, installation, fabrication, and construction activities.
- Conduct receiving inspections for all incoming materials and ensure they meet the required specifications and have valid certifications.
- Carry out in-process and final inspections, documenting results accurately.
- Monitor and verify that all site activities comply with the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Report any non-conforming work, materials, or equipment to the QA/QC Engineer and assist in the issuance of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, checklists, and reports.
- Witness and verify on-site tests (e.g., concrete slump tests, compaction tests, weld tests) as per the ITP.
- Ensure all measuring and test equipment are calibrated and valid.
- Coordinate with the site foreman and supervisors to rectify quality issues promptly.
- Support the QA/QC Engineer in internal audits and client walk-throughs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field) or a relevant trade certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a QA/QC Inspector in a construction or industrial environment, preferably in the UAE.
- Strong practical knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.
- Good physical condition to perform site walks and inspections.
- Good communication skills in English (spoken and written).
