Job Summary:
We are seeking a proficient Aluminum Facade Draftsman to produce detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings for aluminum curtain walls, windows, doors, and other facade systems. The draftsman will work closely with engineers and designers to transform design concepts into precise, manufacturable drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly details for aluminum and glass facade systems using AutoCAD.
- Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and cutting lists from the finalized drawings.
- Coordinate with the design and engineering team to understand project requirements and resolve design discrepancies.
- Incorporate revisions and mark-ups from engineers, architects, and clients into the drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, architectural intent, and relevant standards.
- Assist in the preparation of material submittals and technical documentation for client approval.
- Liaise with the production and installation teams to clarify drawing details and ensure manufacturability.
- Maintain an organized library of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Draftsman specifically in the aluminum facade, curtain wall, or glazing industry in the UAE.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory. Knowledge of 2D drafting is essential.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Good understanding of aluminum profiles, glass types, gaskets, and standard facade system connections.
- Keen attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Good knowledge of measurement units and tolerances.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
