Salary Range: AED 12,000 – 15,000 (All Inclusive)
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Engineer – Electrical to lead the electrical design, engineering, and execution for our major projects. This senior role involves taking full technical responsibility, ensuring authority compliance from design to commissioning, and acting as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Engineering Leadership:
- Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, calculations, and specifications prepared by the design team or consultants.
- Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize design and reduce costs without compromising quality or compliance.
- Provide expert technical support and solutions for complex electrical engineering challenges.
- Oversee the preparation of all technical submittals, including design drawings, material, and shop drawings.
- Project & Team Management:
- Plan, organize, and direct the activities of electrical engineers, site engineers, and draftsmen.
- Develop project schedules, monitor milestones, and ensure the electrical team meets all deadlines.
- Manage the procurement process for major electrical equipment (MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators), including technical evaluation of vendors and suppliers.
- Authority Liaison & Compliance:
- Act as the primary technical liaison with ADDC, TRANSCO, and other UAE authorities.
- Lead all technical discussions and submissions to secure necessary approvals, NOCs, and permits throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that all design and construction activities are fully compliant with the latest authority regulations and standards.
- Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and main contractors to interpret project requirements, present technical proposals, and resolve any issues.
- Lead client meetings and presentations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the project is delivered to the highest quality standards, within budget and on schedule.
- Quality Assurance & Commissioning:
- Establish and enforce the project QA/QC plan for all electrical works.
- Oversee the entire testing and commissioning process for electrical systems, witnessing FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), SAT (Site Acceptance Tests), and energization.
- Ensure all final project documentation, including as-built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals, is complete and accurate.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. A Master's degree or chartered engineer status is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant portion in a senior role within the UAE construction/MEP/infrastructure sector.
- Authority Approval: Must hold multiple, valid senior-level approvals from DEWA, ADDC, TRANSCO, or other UAE authorities. This is a mandatory requirement.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert knowledge of MV/LV distribution systems, protection relay coordination, and earthing systems.
- In-depth experience with authority submission processes and requirements.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, Dialux, AutoCAD).
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead a team of engineers.
- Strong commercial acumen and project management capabilities.
- Excellent client-facing and presentation skills.
