Spray Technician (Grade 3)
Basic Monthly Salary: 3,750 SAR
Job Summary:
The Spray Technician is responsible for the precise and safe application of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other liquid or granular chemicals across the landscape, turf, and plant beds. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of chemical properties, application techniques, and strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. The technician will maintain application equipment and accurately record all chemical usage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chemical Application: Calibrate and operate various spray equipment (backpack sprayers, ride-on spray rigs, spreaders) to apply products accurately and uniformly according to prescribed schedules and labels.
- Mixing & Handling: Safely and accurately mix concentrated chemicals, fertilizers, and adjuvants according to label instructions and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Pest & Disease Scouting: Assist in monitoring turf and landscapes for signs of insect pests, fungal diseases, and weed infestations to inform treatment plans.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all chemical applications, including product names, rates, areas treated, weather conditions, and application dates.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and perform minor repairs on all spray equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent cross-contamination or malfunction.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, re-entry intervals (REI), and local environmental regulations regarding chemical use and storage.
- Inventory Management: Monitor chemical and fertilizer inventory levels and report needs to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in landscaping, agriculture, or golf course maintenance.
- Valid pesticide applicator's license/certification (or ability to obtain one) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of chemical labels and safety data sheets.
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of accuracy.
- Physical ability to lift heavy bags (up to 25 kg) and work in various outdoor weather conditions.
