Job Summary
The AutoCAD Draftsman will be responsible for creating and updating detailed 2D drawings for piping and structural components based on site requirements and engineer's mark-ups. This role is essential for supporting the site team with accurate and up-to-date drawings for fabrication and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Detailing: Prepare detailed fabrication and shop drawings for piping spools, structural steel, and pipe supports using AutoCAD.
- Drawing Updates: Incorporate as-built and site revision mark-ups into the master drawings to maintain an accurate record.
- Site Support: Generate sketches and detailed drawings to assist the construction team in resolving field issues.
- Document Control: Assist in the management of drawing registers and ensure the latest revisions are available to the site team.
- Coordination: Work closely with engineers and supervisors to understand their requirements and produce accurate drawings in a timely manner.
- Quality Check: Check own work for accuracy and completeness before submission for approval.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in piping and structural detailing within a fabrication or construction environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Essential: High proficiency in AutoCAD (2D is mandatory).
- Desirable: Knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD 3D, SP3D, PDMS) is a significant advantage.
- Strong knowledge of drafting standards and conventions for piping and structural disciplines.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, Isometrics, and structural general arrangement drawings.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good time management skills to handle multiple drafting requests.
