Irrigation Attendant (Grade 2)
Basic Monthly Salary: 2,750 SAR
Job Summary:
The Irrigation Attendant supports the irrigation team in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the landscape irrigation system. This entry-level position is hands-on and involves manual labor to ensure the irrigation system operates efficiently, conserving water while maintaining healthy plant material.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance: Assist in routine inspections of irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, valves, and controllers.
- Repairs: Perform basic repairs such as replacing damaged sprinkler heads, fixing minor leaks in pipes and fittings, and unclogging nozzles.
- Manual Watering: Provide manual watering to new plantings, delicate areas, or zones where the automatic system is under repair.
- Trenching & Installation: Assist in digging trenches for new irrigation lines, backfilling, and installing pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads under supervision.
- System Flushing: Assist with winterization and start-up procedures, including blowing out lines and flushing the system.
- Site Cleanup: Keep irrigation valve boxes clear of debris and ensure sprinkler heads are free from obstructions like grass and soil.
- Reporting: Report any major leaks, controller malfunctions, or persistent issues to the Irrigation Technician or Foreman.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimal formal education required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Willingness to perform physically demanding work, including digging, lifting, and bending.
- Basic tool proficiency (shovels, pipe cutters, wrenches).
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Some understanding of basic irrigation components is an advantage but not required.
