Site Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Reports To: Construction Manager / Senior Site Engineer
Job Purpose:
To provide direct engineering supervision and control for a specific section or trade of the works (e.g., structural, finishing, MEP), ensuring it is constructed safely, on time, to the required quality, and in accordance with the drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct foremen, chargehands, and subcontractor labor within the assigned area.
- Perform site surveying, setting out, and leveling for construction activities, ensuring dimensional accuracy.
- Review daily work plans, interpret construction drawings, and ensure all teams understand their tasks.
- Monitor workmanship quality in real-time, coordinating with QA/QC inspectors for formal hold-point inspections.
- Prepare daily site reports, record manpower and equipment, and report progress to the Construction Manager.
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site, raising RFIs to the Technical Office when necessary.
- Enforce strict adherence to approved method statements and safety procedures.
- Monitor material usage and report any wastage or shortages.
- Assist in the coordination of work sequences between different trades in his/her area.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (depending on trade).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on site engineering experience in the UAE construction industry.
- Proficient in surveying instruments and AutoCAD for basic drawing reviews.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must be physically fit and able to work long hours in a challenging site environment.
